the classes:

Book Lamp Project

Facilitated by Adam Gronwald

In this 9-week project, each student took an ordinary hardback book and converted it into a whimsical LED reading lamp. Skills included cutting and gluing plywood, craft knife use, drilling, painting, soldering and testing electrical components, cutting acrylic, and more!

From Scratch

Facilitated by Savannah Wilhelmson

This was a six class baking course where each week students followed a new recipe and worked either in teams or together as a whole group to complete the dish. We made sweet dishes, savory dishes, and sometimes a little of both! Throughout the class, students learned how to use a variety of kitchen tools and practiced hands-on cooking and baking skills. It was a fun and delicious experience from start to finish!

Coding Club

Facilitated by Bailee Hutchinson

In this energetic 9-week coding journey, students built on the skills they already had while diving into new concepts using Code Blocks drag-and-drop coding. They explored exciting platforms like SQL and HTML through Fiero Coding, discovering new ways to create and problem-solve. The course wrapped up with a final project, where each student brought their ideas to life by building their very own custom program.

Art Class

Facilitated by Amy Parker

Split into two classes, the students spent the fall playing with colors in a variety of mediums. We mimicked some of the great artists of years gone by and also took opportunities to follow our own new ideas! We grew in knowledge of perspective, lighting, application, and even patience, alongside our friends and fellow artists.
